CAPTAIN CORELLI’S MANDOLIN
It’s a beautiful romantic tale against the backdrop of WWII.
Nicolas Cage plays an Italian commander who’s stationed on a remote Greek island during World War II. He adores music, has a certain respect towards the Greeks and falls in love with a doctor’s daughter.
The filming took place on the Greek island. So everything you see is real. The beautiful environment, the people (many actors are of Greek ancestry) and the romantic atmosphere are all what contributes in one of the single greatest and most moving romantic movies ever made …
Because February is the month of love! And there’s no better love-story than Captain Corelli’s mandolin. This is no sappy Hollywood story! This is dire reality where not everything works out as planned …
Penélope Cruz has never been any better in any film whatsoever. She’s both charmingly beautiful yet dangerously naive.
Christian Bale plays the fisherman and husband who is sent off to war. He portrays a character who has little respect for his wife, only pushing her closer to …
Antonio Corelli aka Nicolas Cage: the man who is first a mere soldier but slowly becomes a sweet stranger.
Ever wondered why the death of sir John Hurt was considered so painful? Check out his performance in this romantic war-drama. Not only is it Oscar-worthy material … he explains the TRUE meaning of love like no one in the history of moviemaking has ever done before!
That’s why Captain Corelli’s mandolin is our February 2017 …
It’s a raw and realistic thriller.
Sean Connery plays a Harvard professor who specialises in criminal law and human rights. He has to defend a young black man from the electric chair, arrested for the murder of a little girl.
Laurence Fishburne plays the stubborn police officer who refuses any evidence, because he’s convinced Bobby Earl is guilty. Ed Harris plays one of the creepiest psychopaths you’ll ever see in a mainstream American movie.
The atmosphere as well as the location where the movie was filmed is absolutely brilliant!
The story takes place deep in the Florida Everglades: a farmland of forests, high grass and dangerous swamps in the middle of nowhere.
Because this movie is a fabulous thriller! It’s not too dark or frightening. It’s not all serious and even has one or two action scenes. A thriller that keeps you guessing if the young black man is in fact guilty … or the police officers are simply corrupt and racist.
Sean Connery shines as usual and Blair Underwood gives the best performance of his entire career … but it’s Ed Harris whom you’ll remember long after this movie is over, despite only playing a very small part.
The story is original. The atmosphere is great. And you’ll spend the entire time wondering what is true … and what is false.
That’s why Just cause is our January 2017 …
It’s a Christmas comedy.
The story takes place in New York.
9-year-old troublemaker Kevin McCallister is once again separated from his family during the Holiday season, only this time he’s not home alone … he’s in New York. Bumbling burglars Harry & Marv are also back!
Because this movie is funnier than the first. It’s one of those rare comedy sequels that delivers new jokes and a whole new playground.
Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern are back and better than ever before!
And this movie also has Tim Curry and Rob Schneider, two brilliant actors who add more fun and entertainment in the mix!
