xXx: Return of Xander Cage
Kindly avert your eyes to the title of this movie. 'Return' it says. Two reasons: 1) the first movie with Vin Diesel was great, the second movie with Ice Cube was stupid --> so they come back to Vin Diesel. 2) In this story, Xander Cage is left for dead and has to 'return' for his most dangerous mission yet.
If this movie is anything like the first one - popcorn with a neat little story and awesome action - then we're in for a treat. First signs say ok-movie. So long as it doesn't bore like the 2nd movie, we should be fine.

The Founder
Michael Keaton plays the part of Ray Kroc, a second-rate salesman of milkshake machines who's about to go broke. Just then he meets two brothers, Mack and Dick McDonald who run a successful hamburger joint in the South of California. Now the overly ambitious Ray Kroc wants to turn their idea into a billion-dollar selling mega-franchise: McDonalds!
Basically anything with Michael Keaton is a good thing. The man is not only funny, but essentially one of the finest actors of his generation. The movie itself, The Founder, looks like a comedy or at the very least: a lighthearted drama. And the director? He's the one from the brilliant Sandra Bullock story 'The Blind Side'.
(release February 8)
Split
The great return of long-lost director M. Night Shyamalan who started his career with the classic 'The sixth sense' but soon started making watered-down stories with 'The lady in the water'. He now returns to his roots, and brings us a thriller of high standards. Lead role is for ex-Professor Xavier (get it? X as in X-men?) James McAvoy who plays a psychopath with 23 different personalities. To make everything more frightening, three girls have been abducted and have to stay clear from the craziness of this strange killer ...
